Expected silver beads… These are champagne.
I have been working with Toho 11/0 permafinish beads for a few months now, in the colors “galvanized starlight” and “galvanized rose gold.” I absolutely love working with these beads and have been on the lookout for the same brand and size in a silver-toned permanent finish to round out my collection of tiny metallic beads. I thought I’d found exactly what I was looking for when I came across this listing. Normally my “rule” is that I only order items that have free shipping and free returns, but I have been so happy with my other toho beads I just assumed that these would be no different. Also I have searched through hundreds of listings for Toho beads, on Amazon and other sites, and have seen no indication that Toho produces another metallic finish bead that would better suit my needs. And since aluminum is silver in color, beads that are called “aluminum” should be silver… right? So I ignored my “only purchase free shipping /free returns” rule, as I thought I was taking a *safe* chance ordering these.Upon opening them, the beads appear to have a hint of gold; I would call them champagne. When placed next to gold beads they still look champagne. Next to silver beads…. champagne. All by themselves, regardless of lighting, these are very obviously CHAMPAGNE. They are certainly beautiful, but I thought I was ordering silver… and now I have spent money I cannot get back, and I still need silver.Pictures show the tube of Toho Permafinish Galvanized aluminum beads, next to Toho permafinish Galvanized Starlight (tiny gold beads); Toho Permafinish Galvanized Rose Gold beads; and two other silver colored beads I have (“metal cube beads” from Joann’s, and round bright metal beads from Hobby Lobby).Beads arrived quicker than expected, and are in good condition, so that was good at least….
