I have been wanting to make a teething necklace to wear for my baby to play with for some time now and have been looking at a few different websites that sell them. It is hard to find the ones that are food-grade and I have been reading about how the difference in quality is significant. There are a lot of different styles of beads out there that meet this criteria. Some are shaped like other geodesic shapes like dodecahedrons, and there are some neat printed ones. I actually looked briefly on Amazon, but didn’t see any that were food-grade, so I was surprised when I got the opportunity to review these ones. They are a lot cheaper than the ones I was looking at elsewhere! They’re more than other silicone beads I’ve seen that AREN’T food-grade, as is expected, but these are the best-priced ones I have seen that are safe for babies to chew on.I am absolutely thrilled with them. It was really easy to thread them onto some embroidery floss, add a natural-wood ring as a fascination piece, and tie it off securely. I actually made this necklace while we were on a read trip. My baby was fussy while I made it, but was immediately happy to watch me do the final steps and begin playing with it. They had a little bit of a “new” smell to them when I first got them, but they cleaned right up with a little dishsoap and water. Other silicone things I’ve had, including bread pans and that sort of thing, have had the same smell, and they all clean up the same.The beads themselves are hefty. They’re fun to play with. They do get stuck in my hair a little more than other beads do because they’re “grippy”. But they’re so worth it because my baby loves playing with them. We do baby wearing and it gives him something to play with when we go shopping and that sort of thing. We are thinking of other things to do with them- other toys we could make and things we can wear for his benefit. It is important not to leave the baby unattended with the necklace since it can be a choking hazard- jewelry like this is meant for others to wear while holding the baby.I will be buying more colors from this supplier this fall. Maybe black and orange for Halloween, and other seasonal colors. I might supplement with some specialty beads from some of the other brands I saw online, but for generic beads, these beads are definitely the best deal I have seen.

Beautiful color and the case matches the size of my other bead cases
I have quite a few silicone bead kits and this one is my favorite. First, the coloring is beautiful! Second, the texture is smooth and truly silicone, vs a plastic/clay feeling silicone. Third, the bead case it comes in is the same standard size as my other bracelet bead kits, which is amazing for my organization loving mind. These beads are high quality and easy to thread. I also haven’t noticed any imperfections in the beads, which is nice to have a full set I am able to use the whole set. The size of the bead is perfect for keychains, which is what I bought it for! The price for this set is also right about where I expect it to be at $9
